Postmortem II

May 2026

Toying with the detective fiction genre with a bizarre twist, the Postmortem series traces the investigations by a detective duo within a black-and-white cityscape as they roam in search of a mystery among vast memories and existential oblivion. Inspired by absurdist theatre, Roberto BolaƱo's "detective" poems from The Romantic Dogs, and the streets of San Francisco, these performances visualize a post-apocalyptic world at the convergence of abstraction and mundanity. Postmortem II reimagines and rearranges the scenario of the previous Postmortem show, continuing the themes with more unexpected elements: love, robots, and dinosaurs.

Directed by Sid Zhang. Featuring Anna Mistele, Sharon Wambu, Isabella Terrazas, and Sam Petersen.

Postmortem

July 2025

Postmortem is a pseudo-mystery show. Toying with the detective tradition with an absurd twist, this original physical theatre piece traces the hopeless investigation of a detective duo within a black-and-white cityscape as they find themselves roaming among vast memories and existential oblivion.

Directed by Sid Zhang. Featuring Anna Mistele, Maggie Cheung, Sharon Wambu, and Sam Petersen.

Anna in a white morphsuit, perched atop a chair. Sitting in the chair is another
person in a white morphsuit and detective outfit. Together, they are reading a very
long newspaper. There are newspapers covering the floor. In the foreground, two
hairs emerge from a cardboard box. The box is lit from within.
